View Dates & Prices

This section of the Camino de Santiago follows the Atlantic Coast from the elegant seaside town of Baiona, located in the northwest of Spain, towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Santiago de Compostela. Discover the wild Atlantic beauty and sandy beaches of Galicia as you spend three days walking along the coastline before heading inland through woodlands and small villages.

This 7-night holiday is perfect for those looking to capture the essence of the Camino: a nice walk, good food and wine, discovering local customs, meeting fellow pilgrims and enjoying the unique atmosphere of it all.

Your journey will take you through historic towns, chestnut groves, pine and eucalyptus forests of Northern Spain, as you make your way towards the famous pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela. Get your ‘Compostela’ certificate and explore the magic of Santiago’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This trip involves challenging walks, with the average walking distance being between 14-25km.

Holiday highlights

Santiago de Compostela

Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. The city has its origin in the shrine of Saint James the Great, now the city's cathedral, as destination of the Way of St. James, a leading Catholic pilgrimage route which originated in the 9th century. In 1985 the city's Old Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Bay of Vigo

As you walk along the coastal section of your route, you will have striking views out across the Bay of Vigo to your left. Not only was the bay area one of the settings for Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, it was also the site of the Battle of Vigo Bay which was fought between Anglo-Dutch and Franco-Spanish forces in 1702.

Redondela: The Village of Viaducts

The town of Redondela in the province of Pontevedra in northwestern Spain is known as ‘the Village of the Viaducts’ due to its two railroad viaducts dating from the 19th century. You can also visit the 16th century church, Iglesia de Santiago de Redondela in the old town.
