Despite a history of varying fortunes Hungary retains a valuable cultural and environmental heritage, which people come from all parts of the world to enjoy. A particularly popular destination with outdoor enthusiasts, Hungary is a mainly rural country boasting stunning scenery including mountains, forests and the sparkling Danube.

The Danube Bend, a region of peaks and river towns, is where the hills on both banks force the river to turn sharply and flow southward. It is arguably the most picturesque stretch of the Danube. Round the bend is the tiny town of Visegrád, Hungary’s 'Camelot' in the 15th century and home to Renaissance-era palace ruins and a forbidding hilltop fortress.

The small town of Visegrád will be your home for this holiday. One of Northern Hungary’s oldest cities, Visegrád is a popular spot among nature lovers as the area is covered in woodlands and elevated sites, giving visitors incredible views of the river and its surroundings.

This 7-night trip includes five walks through the beautiful Hungarian landscape with an expert local walking guide.

Note: During this holiday, the group will be divided into two parties; moderate or more challenging, depending on the participant’s fitness levels.
