Holiday highlights

Mulhacen

Mulhacén is the highest mountain in continental Spain at over 3,479m. It is part of the Sierra Nevada range in the Cordillera Penibética. Its name comes from the Spanish transciption of Muley Abul Hassan, the penultimate Muslim King of Granada in the 15th century. According to legend he was buried on the summit of the mountain.

Granada
Dating from prehistoric times, Granada developed as a city under Roman rule.  The Arabs invaded the peninsula in the 8th century and Granada was the last Muslim city to fall to the Christians in 1492. Today it is still home to the greatest Muslim legacy in Europe - the jewel in Granada’s crown is the Alhambra, which stands at the foot of Spain's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada.
Alhambra
The Islamic palaces of Alhambra were built during the Nasrid dynasty for the last Muslim Emirs of Spain. Today, Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of Spain’s major tourist attractions.
