Holiday highlights

Hellbrunn Palace
This is an early Baroque villa of palatial size, near Morzg, Salzburg. It was built in 1613-19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg. 
Hellbrunn Gazebo
This is one of the main sites from The Sound of Music. After a renovation, it was reconstructed in the park of Hellbrunn Palace. 
Maria Himmelfahrt Church 
This was built in 1505, and one of the towers is the relic of an even older church, which was built about 200 years before the existing one.
Leopoldskron Castle 
The castle is well known for its elaborate stucco works, mostly in the chapel and the Festaal ceremonial hall.
Nonnberg Abbey 
This Benedictine monastery in Salzburg was founded ca. 714 by Saint Rupert and is the oldest women’s religious house in the German speaking world. Its first abbess was Saint Erentrudis of Salzburg.

Depart Dublin on your flight to Munich. Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transferred across the border to Austria towards your hotel in Bad Ischl.

Bad Ischl is a spa town, which is known as a gateway to the Alpine lakes and mountains of the Salzkammergut region. It is brimming with quaint streets, stunning villas and picturesque buildings for you to explore.  You will have the remainder of the day at leisure to settle in to your new surroundings.

Day 6 - Lake Fuschlsee

Begin your walking day in the village of Fuschl am See, where you will discover the lake promenade with inns, boat rentals and beaches before entering the nature preserve of the northern shore. Walk along several beautiful spots at the water’s edge and venture through pine tree forests before reaching the far end of Lake Fuschlsee. Admire Castle Fuschl on the lake’s edge and then continue through peaceful forests towards the southern shore, coming full circle back in to the lakeside village of Fuschl am See. A packed lunch will be included. Leisurely option: Distance - 8km with inclines of 150m. Moderate option: Distance - 10km with inclines of 700m

Day 7 - Lake Hallstätter See

Lake Hallstätter See

Lake Hallstätter See is one of the deepest lakes in Austria, and is named after Hallstatt, one of the country's smallest towns. On this full day walking tour, with lunch included, you will have the opportunity to see lush valleys, quaint towns and boats sailing across the lake. Leisurely option: Distance - 8km with inclines of 50m. Moderate option: Distance - 13km with inclines of 400m

Day 8 - Return home

Munich City Tour

Say goodbye to Austria as you depart your hotel and head towards Munich Airport. En route, you will enjoy a half day guided city tour of Munich with your local guide. Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration and its beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589.
